I have created a blog post solely on Nubar, about the brand and it’s nail products so please have a read to find out more information about Nubar.

About the Nubar POP! Collection

The Nubar 2015 Spring Collection is here and its name: POP!

We have been looking forward to this collection so we can spruce our nails up for Spring time.

There are 6 shades within the POP! Collection and each is amazing in their own right.

All of the nail polishes within this Nubar collection are solid colour, Creme polishes. I was so happy to see that this Spring collection features pastel shades as I LOVE pastel shades in general! The first thing that came to mind when I saw this collection was…Cadburys Mini Eggs. These 6 sugary shades, although unfortunately aren’t edible, certainly look yummy! Maybe I’ll try having a go at creating Mini Egg nail art nails.

My favourite colours from this collection are: Cover Girl (Pink), Prima Donna (Green) and Choirgirl (Grey).

Nubar POP! Collection Swatches

Below are Nubar POP! Collection swatches that I have created with my own hand and nails. Apologies for any dry skin, my fingers and hands have been a little dry recently but thankfully Nubar have sent me a bottle of their Island Breeze hand lotion so I’ll be trying that and seeing how I get on with that.

Nubar V.I.P Nail Polish

Nubar VIP NU-N357 Nail Polish

The first in the Nubar POP! Collection that I tried and tested was the V.I.P ( NU-N357 ). In the above image I am wearing a single coat of the Nubar Foundation base coat with two coats of the V.I.P and then a single coat of the Nubar Diamont Seal and Shine Top Coat. I found that two coats of this polish was enough for it to be opaque and in my opinion it wouldn’t need a third. In the bottle, this polish looks like it would be a pastel shade but when applied to the nail I would describe it (funnily enough) as a POP of colour, a bright and sunny shade of orange. Nubar V.I.P is a creme nail polish and I found it to glide on to my nails beautifully with ease.

Nubar Prima Donna Nail Polish

Nubar Prima Donna POP! Collection Swatch
Nubar Prima Donna NU-N351 Nail Polish

Well…Prima Donna…I absolutely adore this shade! I love how ‘different’ the colour is as a nail polish. I very rarely see people wearing a light green pastel nail polish…why? It’s such a beautiful and unique shade. I think the colour of this nail polish is quite hard to describe, I have noticed a few have mentioned it as a sky colour but personally I don’t agree with that, I think (get ready, it’s a mouthful) it’s more of a mix between a pale minty, pastel shade, of the crystal clear turquoise Caribbean sea.

In the above image I am wearing a single coat of the Nubar Foundation base coat with two coats of the Prima Donna and then a single coat of the Nubar Diamont Seal and Shine Top Coat. I found that two coats of this polish was enough for it to be opaque and in my opinion it wouldn’t need a third. Although I absolutely love the shade of the Nubar Prima Donna nail polish, I found this polish the hardest to apply. It’s a creme polish like all the nail polishes within this Nubar collection, however, the formula seemed thicker. Still, I really, really like the shade!

Nubar Fan Club Nail Polish

Nubar Fan Club POP! Collection Swatch
Nubar Fan Club NU-N350 Nail Polish

Nubar Fan Club is a brilliant spring colour but I think it would be perfect for summer also as it’s quite a bright pop of colour. I would describe the shade as being a bright aqua sky blue, with a slight a hint of turquoise. In the above image I am wearing a single coat of the Nubar Foundation base coat with two coats of the Fan Club and then a single coat of the Nubar Diamont Seal and Shine Top Coat. I found that two coats of this polish was enough for it to be opaque and in my opinion it wouldn’t need a third. Fan Club is a creme nail polish and I found it to glide on to my nails beautifully with ease. I do like this shade and think it would work perfectly as part of some nail art designs for the summer, that’s certainly one for me to remember and maybe I’ll share my outcomes in another blog post.

Nubar Encore Nail Polish

Nubar Encore POP! Collection Swatch
Nubar Encore NU-N356 Nail Polish

In the above image I am wearing a single coat of the Nubar Foundation base coat with two coats of the Encore by Nubar and then a single coat of the Nubar Diamont Seal and Shine Top Coat. I found that two coats of this polish was enough for it to be opaque and in my opinion it wouldn’t need a third. The Encore nail polish is a creme polish and looks slightly different on the nails to how it appears in the bottle. I would describe the shade of this Encore nail polish to being almost a Cheshire brick shade of brown which is a brown / red colour.

I have to be honest…I have never worn brown nail polish in my life ever! I think the reason behind this is that I’ve never thought to myself, ‘Oh, that’s a lovely shade of brown nail polish’ or ever thought I have had the need to wear brown nail polish to match an outfit. So this was certainly a first for me and how pleasantly surprised I was! I do like the colour and think it is a perfect all-year-round nail polish, however, I felt like my skin tone was a little pale for this shade of brown although I do like it and I am now on the hunt for a brown nail polish to suit my skin tone. Any suggestions are more than welcome so please feel free to leave a comment in the comment box below. 🙂

Nubar Choirgirl Nail Polish

Nubar Choirgirl POP! Collection Swatch
Nubar Choirgirl NU-N353 Nail Polish

In the above image I am wearing a single coat of the Nubar Foundation base coat with two coats of the Choirgirl and then a single coat of the Nubar Diamont Seal and Shine Top Coat. I found that two coats of this polish was enough for it to be opaque and in my opinion it wouldn’t need a third. The Choirgirl nail polish is a creme polish and looks exactly as it does in the bottle, on the nail.

Choirgirl by Nubar is one of my favourite nail polishes within this Spring 2015 POP! collection as it is ideal to wear for any occasion and will match any outfit. Choirgirl is a pretty pale and light dove grey colour that is also simple yet elegant.

Nubar Cover Girl Nail Polish

Nubar Covergirl POP! Collection Swatch
Nubar Covergirl NU-N354 Nail Polish

Nubar Covergirl is one of my favourites within the Nubar POP Spring 2015 Collection. I love pink and pastel nail polishes so the two together was a big win for me! The colour as it looks in the bottle is exactly as it looks when on the nails. The Covergirl nail polish is such a cute, pretty spring colour and I will certainly be wearing it a lot this spring and quite possible the summer too. I think a slight waterfall of fine silver glitter (on a single nail on each hand) from the Nubar Jewels collection would look amazing with this colour polish.

In the above image I am wearing a single coat of the Nubar Foundation base coat with three coats of the Covergirl and then a single coat of the Nubar Diamont Seal and Shine Top Coat. I found that two coats of this polish wasn’t quite enough for it to be opaque and in my opinion it needed the third coat. I did find that the Covergirl polish was the thinnest polish from this entire nubar POP! collection which to me personally, doesn’t matter, it just took a little longer to paint my nails with this polish as I applied three coats.

Nubar POP! Collection Overview

Overall I love this Spring Collection by Nubar, the 6 shades are beautifully simple and pretty with a pop of colour to ease our way into Spring.

All but one of the polishes (Covergirl) provided full opaque coverage in two coats and the Prima Donna was a little thicker than the rest of the polishes within this collection but all in all, they each applied nicely with ease onto the nail with great results as shown in the image swatches above.

I thought that my only complaint within this collection would be the brown colour nail polish (Encore), however I was wrong, I liked this colour. After testing each product, my only complaint was in fact about  the Prima Dona nail polish, I found this polish the hardest to apply. It’s a creme polish like all the nail polishes within this collection, however, the formula seemed thicker. That is my only complaint within this collection.
